ALBANY RESIDENTS WANT DOG WASTE CLEANED UP.(Local)

Some residents want the city to put more bite into its control of dog droppings.

The Hudson Park Neighborhood Association has formed a committee to address the problem and the Council of Albany Neighborhood Associations has passed a resolution to ask Mayor Thomas M. Whalen III to issue an edict warning that the city will begin issuing tickets to owners of offending canines.

Residents say that dog owners are ignoring the requirement they tidy up after their pets because the city has never issued a ticket under its 4-year-old canine waste law.
